This is a very short (11,000 wd) history of the Presidency of Millard Fllmore. It is a fun and informative read. The main event of the Fillmore era was the Compromise of 1850. The death of President Zachary Taylor made the Compromise of 1850 possible. The slavery issue was pretty much the only issue that was on the minds of most Americans in Millard’s time. This is a general history written with a touch of humor. Subjects covered include Uncle Tom’s Cabin; the Christiana Riot; Narcisco Lopez, and the Perry Mission to Japan.

Mike Donovan is a stand-up comedian, historian, radio personality, and a free-lance writer. He was born in 1955 and has been a reporter for Sports Illustrated.
