“The Rabbi and I” YouTube channel was the inspiration for this book. The “I”, Joe Sutliff. realized that the emphasis on observing rituals in a specific way was driving people away from being Jewish. His questions to Rabbi Block became 36 chapters of practical advice on “How to be Jewish in 30 Seconds”. Rabbi Block’s 40 year experience as a Chaplain in a psychiatric hospital, Rabbi of several part time congregations, being a Chaplain for the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company, The American Cancer Society, and a hospice chaplain make his advice for “How to be Jewish” practical, realistic, and Jewish.
